DETERMINANTS AND HEALTH RECOGNITION OF DRIVERS

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation of health belief variables with drivers¢¥ general characteristics, the relation of health belief variables with each disease symptom, the appearance of disease symptom by drivers¢¥ general characteristics a.¢¥- d the factors affecting drivers¢¥ health recognition and to present the base for drivers¢¥ health care.
To arrive at the purpose of this study, A total of 521 drivers were investigated in Tae Gu city. In investigation method, we used general characteristics (Age, school career, religion, marriage, driving type, total working career, working hours, health education, physical exercise hour) as independent variables, health concern, susceptibility, benefits, and severity as intermediate variables, and 17 diseases symptom. As dependent variables. As Analysis method, we used frequency, percentage, T-test, One¢¥: Way ANOVA, Pearson¡¯s correlation coefficient, multiple regression analysis and path analysis.
The result, are as follows.
First, General characteristics of drivers are age, schooling career, religion, marital status, types of driver, total driving career, working hours, health education,¢¥ physical exercise hours.
Second, In the relation of health belief variables by general characteristic statistically significant variables are as follows. Health concern, susceptibility, severity¢¥, and benefit in total working career are significant, benefit and severity in driving type, health concern in age, benefit in school career, severity in religion, susceptibility in marriage.
Third, In the relation of health belief variables by each symptom statistically significant variables are as follows. Severity in hemorrhoid and digest are significant.
Susceptibility and severity in constipation, benefit in sour stomach, sleep, giddiness, sick of waist and neck and tear, susceptibility and benefit in fatigue, cough and spasm, health concern and severity in blood pressure, health concern and susceptibility in arthritis, severity in dyspnea.
Fourth, In the relation of each symptom by general characteristic statistically significant variables are as follows.
Constipation, hemorrhoid, digest, fatigue, headache, blood pressure, spasm, giddiness, sick of waist and neck, arthritis, cough, tear, eye trouble in total working career are, significant constipation, headache, arthritis, dyspnea, tear in driving type fatigue, sleep, giddiness, arthritis, and dyspnea in health education, hemorrhoid, sour stomach, headache,¢¥ fatigue, sick of waist and neck, and dyspnea in working hour digest, fatigue, giddiness, sick of waist and neck, and eye trouble in physical exercise hours.
Constipation, hemorrhoid, our stomach, fatigue, headache, sick of waist and neck, spasm, and tear in age. Fatigue, giddiness, sick of waist and neck, spasm, and eye trouble in school career. Digest and dyspnea in religion. Constipation, hemorrhoid, fatigue, sleep, headache, sick of waist and neck and eye trouble in marriage.
Fifth, In the correlation of health recognition and the factors affecting health recognition, marriage (-0.203), Physical exercise hour(r=0.116), total working career(r=-0.200) and benefit (r=0.267) showed strong correlation.
In the regression analysis of factors affecting health recognition, benefit (i-0.274), marriage (, 6=0.122), susceptibility (,8=0.1 1), total working career( =0.150), and severity (.8=0.129), explained them by 16.5 %.
